Transportation Around (and to) Town

Parking in town is a challenge;

The town of Park City has an extensive and free Transit System to help you get around town without a car!  The bus routes extend to Jeremy Ranch, Silver Creek, as well as a number of Park and Ride lots.

High Valley Transit has buses around town, including Kimball Junction, Pinebrook, Jeremy Ranch, as well as the Commuter Routes from Kamas, Francis, and Heber.

Living in Salt Lake is a good option, with a lot more opportunities for housing. Depending on your access to I-80 Eastbound, you can be at the base of Canyons Village in 25-30 minutes.  The State does a very good job of clearing the highway of snow; occasionally the road gets restricted to 4 wheel drive or chains (usually for no more than a few hours).

If the drive has you worried, or you simply want to sit back, relax, and catch some free WiFi,  check out the  107 Commuter to Park City to the Kimball Junction Transit Center, which is free (the bus schedule often gets adjusted between summer and winter).

Should You Get a Second Job?

Maybe this is your second job, but if you are moving to Park City to teach skiing or snowboarding full time, here is something to consider: The nature of our industry is such that business fluctuates over the course of the season.  You may be busy working 7 to 10 days in a row, and other times you will have some days where you will not be working much at all.

One of the most important things to keep in mind is your financial stability.  Many of our instructors maintain second jobs in restaurants and ski shops in town, and local businesses need the help.  As a first year instructor, you will in all likelihood want to hold a second job. You will still have plenty of time to enjoy the mountain, have fun and teach.

MY SCHEDULE POWERED BY LEGION

Park City is using My Schedule powered by Legion; you can cross-train for work in other departments at the resort and then add to your schedule as needed! Providing optional work opportunity for you in other departments is not only helpful for our resort, it can expand your knowledge around overall operations in the Snow sports industry. Below, you will build your preferred schedule, and then we will go from there!
